Neo, Vega, Puzzled and R Digit | Craig & Ryland Review Show

Every week the father and son team looked at the latest and greatest products released to the magic community. If the product is good or bad they will let you know. Let's break down the four products they reviewed this week and how they are designed.

The first product Craig & Ryland reviewed is R-Digit by Chris Torrente. According to the Apple Store's description, "With R-DIGIT, Iphone calculator app numbers travel magically from the spectator's mobile to yours. You can find a large field of magic effects with this principle. Get ready for stupefaction and laughs from your audience!" Craig & Ryland loved this product, awarding it with 100% and 119% rating.

Roddy McGhie has introduced Puzzled. This product allows a magician to turn an impossible puzzle into an impossible object that your audience will never forget. Penguin Magic goes on to state, "The magician dumps a handful of puzzle pieces out of an envelope for a spectator to examine. When assembled the pieces are actually a cut-up playing card. The magician introduces the idea of the chocolate bar puzzle where a single piece can be removed, but then the pieces can be rearranged and the puzzle remains the same size. Incredibly, a piece of the playing card puzzle is removed, and yet after they are rearranged the puzzle remains the same size as a standard playing card. As a kicker the magician places the removed piece in the centre of the puzzle, and presses down, fusing all of the pieces together back into a single uncut playing card which is then handed out for examination." It's a clever and creative routine everyone should check out. Craig gave Puzzled a 100% rating. Ryland followed up with 118%

Handy Altan & Agus Tjiu have teamed up to introduce a new coin wallet that can be transformed to a cylinder. PropDog goes on to state, "Vega is a cylinder and coin props designed by Handy Altan and crafted beautifully by Tjiu Magic. Cylinder and Coins was created by John Ramsay, and published in 1948 by Victor Farelli in the manuscript John Ramsay's Cylinder and Coins. And after 73 years, it has been redesigned.

Instead of a cylinder, Vega is a coin wallet that can be transformed to a cylinder, creating a new premise to use a cylinder in a routine, especially for table hopping or any walk around magic. Vega also presents a new type of stacked gimmick that appears like a regular moving stack of coins. Including a short routine that I usually perform in a table hopping routine. Vega will bring a new colour in the cylinder and coins effect." It's a brilliant routine that puts a unique effect on a classic effect. Craig loved this routine, giving it a 100% rating. As for Ryland, he followed up with 117%.

The last product Craig & Ryland looked at this week is Neo by Nicholas Lawrence. This is a new mind-blowing visual trick that will leave everyone awestruck. Penguin Magic describes the product as follows, "A card is selected by the audience and signed on its face. The magician turns the signed card over and draws a large black X in each of the four corners. One by one the X’s each visually and reappear in the same corner. With a wave of the magician’s hands, they all jump back. The X’s instantly collect back in one corner for a final time. Then the card is handed out as an impossible souvenir."

While this trick is well made and does what it says, it probably isn't ideal for live performances. While Craig liked this product for virtual performances, he doesn't think it's something that will work live. He gave Neo Neo 50%. Ryland enjoyed this product more, giving it 88%. If you are a social media magician, definitely get Neo to leave some great impressions.
